Messina Talent Advisors is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Bellevue, WA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform experiments at the bench level to support investigative work.
- Assists in the setup of process, test, and evaluation equipment.
- Report any issues related to the process and/or the lab and help find the solution.
- Troubleshoot the instruments and arrange regular maintenance working with other team members and the instrument vendors.
- Maintains records and files of all completed engineering lab work per oral or document instructions.
- Make recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for review and consideration by lab management and engineers.
- Perform manual tasks around the lab such as disposing hazardous waste, organizing, and cleaning lab benches and stock room.
- Perform general procurement and preparation tasks to maintain lab supplies.
- Ensure that all safety procedures are observed during laboratory work.
- Minimum of 2 years working as an engineering technician.
- Associate’s degree in a chemical or engineering field highly desired.
- Moderate mechanical skills to support assembly and disassembly.
- Have operational understanding of common bench test equipment.
- A high degree of ownership of procurement, the ability to adapt to issues as they arise, and provide solutions.
- Able to multitask and implement effective time management.
- Proficiency in using Excel and Word.
- Exhibits familiarity with proper lab safety procedures.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations.
- Good communication skills and well organized.
- Experience working in a lab environment with hazardous materials.
- Work closely with technical staff in planning, implementing, and conducting tests, as well as with data collection.
- Familiar with operating and maintaining lab equipment.
