Position Description

Position Summary

Along with traditional recruitment activities, this position provides leadership to the transfer recruitment initiatives and is responsible for communicating the mission of Messiah University to prospective students and their families, helps to manage the application file completion process and assists in other initiatives as requested by the Associate Director of Admissions, Transfer Recruitment.

Skills, Characteristics Required for Position

Effective interpersonal skills, especially focused on student & family counseling;
Excellent written and oral communication skills,
Strong organizational and time management skills including a capacity for attention to and care of details;
Strong technical skills in the use of MS Office Suite;
Ability to work independently and provide follow up effectively;
Ability to relate well with a broad spectrum of constituencies, including people from diverse and culturally varied backgrounds.
Familiarity with Messiah University preferred

Primary Duties

Follow-up with transfer students via phone, email, texting and in-person communication throughout entire admissions cycle for inquiry, applied, accepted, and deposited students.
Daily follow-up with new inquiries and college fish names via the “Transfer Admissions” email account.
Assist in file completion by receiving and processing e-mail application attachments.
Answer phone calls/e-mail from prospective students and parents for Associate Director of Admissions, Transfer Recruitment when needed.
Initiate phone and email communication to students at every point in the funnel.
Update and maintain transfer admissions webpage.
Record all follow-up communication.
Review student application documents and Slate checklist for correct coding.
Work with Application Processor to request revisions on checklist and Slate coding of records.
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance .
