What do I need as a Med-Tech with Messiah Lifeways?

• High School Diploma, GED diploma recognized by the Department of Education, or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry.
• Formal nursing assistant and med-tech training is helpful but not required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Sincere desire to work with older adults.

What will I do as a Med-Tech with Messiah Lifeways?

• Perform all the skills and duties of a Nursing Assistant
• Assist with treatments and therapies under the direction of licensed personnel and according to departmental policy
• Assist residents with medications per physician's orders
• Take reasonable measures to ensure that residents take their medications
• Document all medications administered to residents on their EMAR
• Communicate medication errors and/or refusal of medication to nursing as soon as possible, in order for the nurse to follow protocol
• Utilize Messiah Lifeways' licensed personnel (nurse) for medical questions, and for assessing residents following a fall
• Keep the work area neat and clean ensuring the confidentiality of resident records
• Participate in updating resident RASPs and reviews for accuracy
