Mesquite ISD is Hiring a Teacher Support Specialist Near Mesquite, TX

Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Teacher Support Specialist. The appointees will report directly to the Professional Learning Department and provide ongoing, differentiated, and job-embedded learning opportunities to beginning teachers. The TSS will provide planning support, modeling, differentiated support, and feedback to a small and changing caseload of teachers throughout the school year. The Teacher Support Specialist will serve no more than 18 hours per week and will be assigned to the Professional Learning Department.

Qualifications: 5 or more years of successful teaching experience; Valid Texas Teaching Certificate

Preference will be given to applicants who:

Demonstrates successful experience as a classroom teacher
Exemplifies effective classroom management and instructional best practices
Establishes and maintains positive and productive peer relationships
Demonstrates flexibility and positive interpersonal and collaborative skills
Exhibits a commitment to his or her own professional growth and learning
Displays positivity toward the profession and MISD

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary: $40 per hour not to exceed 18 hours per week

Employment begins: July 19, 2023

(Retired teachers are eligible to participate. If selected, TRS rules will apply)
