Mesquite ISD is Hiring a Coordinator of Professional Learning Near Mesquite, TX
Primary Purpose:
To assist in supporting teachers and staff in continuous growth and improvement by establishing and sustaining highly effective professional learning. The appointee will work a flexible schedule, including multiple evenings throughout the week to lead and facilitate district professional learning sessions and programs.

Texas Teaching Certificate
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Have a minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience and/or administrative experience
Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and plan an effective Professional Learning System that includes the best use of research findings, time, staff, advanced technologies, community resources and financial means to enhance the opportunities for professional growth for all MISD employees.
Knowledge of current trends in curriculum, teaching methods and strategies; best practices in school improvement, leadership development; adult learning theory and professional learning; planning and project management; and collaboration, coordination, and facilitation of work groups.
Exhibit excellent communication (verbal and written), public relations, and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding written, speaking, and organizational skills with experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus.
Promote a positive, caring atmosphere for learning in an orderly, purposeful environment for all professional learning sessions
Display knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures of MISD.
Ability to travel to a variety of district locations and city locations.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the MISD ETIP program including designing and revising coursework as needed, supporting program presenters, recruiting and orientation processes, communication with campus leadership and program participants, record keeping, budget and payroll management, and yearly participant audits.
Analyze and use data to identify professional learning needs and to evaluate, improve and report on ETIP program effectiveness and progress towards goals
Work a flexible schedule, including multiple evenings throughout the month to lead and facilitate district professional learning sessions and programs.
Assist as needed with all Professional Learning department programming including New Hire Week, Learning Leaders, Mesquite Leadership Academy, TSS’s, New Teacher Academy, PACE, etc.
Oversee processes and implementation of all employee evaluation systems and records (including appraisal timelines)
Oversee and manage the T-TESS Training for new employees and ongoing administrator compliance.
Design and manage the Professional Learning page and the New Hire page on the MISD district website
Establish communication systems to keep stakeholders regularly informed of professional learning goals, plans and progress of the programs under your management
Evaluate and manage the access and availability of the MISD Professional Learning Library and resources (including digital memberships)
Establish strong working relationships with building administrators and district department leaders in order to work together to meet professional learning goals, needs, and requirements
Support campuses in developing and implementing high quality professional learning using the MISD Professional Learning Framework
Provide feedback and support to district presenters and facilitators using the MISD Professional Learning Blueprint
Serve on district committees as a Professional Learning representative in order to support the District’s vision, mission, goals and strategic priorities as requested
Cooperate in the development and implementation of district improvement efforts.
Maintain contact with other school districts, governmental agencies, and professional learning associations to keep abreast of laws, regulations, statutes, policies, current research, and best practices related to human resources, leadership and professional learning
Research a variety of information (e.g. courses, materials, training consultants, etc.) for the purpose of developing programs that meet staff needs
Ensure all professional learning program design adheres to the research based practices for professional learning
Articulate how professional learning contributes to attaining goals and improvement efforts
Maintain accurate files and records
Perform other duties as assigned

Some travel to attend and represent MISD at professional conferences (local, state, and national)
Frequent evening requirements
Prolonged and irregular hours at times
Light lifting and moving materials, equipment, and furniture
Presenting for extended periods of time
