All boys high school seeks science teacher
The Mesivta High School of Greater Boston is an all-boys Yeshiva in Brighton, Massachusetts. For over two decades, the Mesivta has produced learned Bnei Torah of the highest caliber, whose characters are molded by what they learn, and who are inspired to apply their knowledge in their daily lives. Here, teachers and students forge close relationships. Students are challenged in both their Judaics classes and in their secular program, which is staffed by experienced teachers who have taught at the high school and college levels.
With a school of only 50 students and a small building, it is easy for you to get to know other teachers and interact with colleagues across content areas. Relationships and collaboration are key at Mesivta.
We are searching for a high school science teacher with strong interpersonal skills and who wants to use their creativity to engage students. Our flexible curriculum and part-time hours are ideal for someone looking for a different kind of teaching experience.
Responsibilities include:
Create and implement lesson plans You will be responsible for teaching a variety of high school level Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics to small classes of students in grades 9-11. An AP track is available for eligible students and may be offered depending on student readiness and teacher preparedness.
Monitor and communicate student progress Provide feedback to students and their families on academic, social, and behavioral progress. Maintain appropriate records. Create two-way communication channels with families so they are updated on their child’s progress.
Other responsibilities As assigned by the Head of School.

You are a creative thinker with a willingness and ability to adapt lessons quickly. You are willing to try different things to engage students.

You are interested in working with a flexible curriculum to engage students in learning science.

The ideal candidate has some knowledge of and an ability to teach high school biology, chemistry, and physics.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in either science or education who is looking for additional teaching hours to enhance their day!

Location: The Mesivta High School is in Brighton, Massachusetts
Hours:Monday-Thursday 3:15-6:15 p.m.
Salary: $20,000-$30,000 per year, based on experience.
Benefits: Employees may be eligible professional development opportunities and will have time off for national and Jewish holidays. Secular teachers do not hold classes on Fridays.
