This opportunity requires a motivated self-starter with the ability to produce high-quality work product in a collaborative team environment with an emphasis on long term growth and career development within the Company. You will focus on providing day to day accounting, financial analysis and reporting, and commission payout calculations for our Institutional Sales & Trading as well as our Wealth Advisory groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile and analyze activity from clearing brokers daily with the general ledger and payout system
  • Assist with daily risk management reporting for Institutional Sales & Trading business
  • Process monthly commission payouts for salespeople in both the Institutional Sales & Trading and Wealth Advisory groups
  • Cross-train and serve as a backup for additional Capital Markets business lines (Investment Banking, Credit Tenant Lease Finance, Public Finance)
  • Record journal entries in general ledger on a monthly basis
  • Perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations and additional internal management reporting
  • Liaise with the team, auditors and regulators to streamline the audit process
  • Identify areas for process improvements and establish efficiencies and enhanced reporting
  • Assist other accounting functions as requested

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of prior relevant experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently while being team-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Excel
  • Experience with Oracle Netsuite general ledger system and Xtiva payout system a plus
