Mesa seeks a Technician-Substation Drafting / Design-Entry / Mid Level who is looking for a career in the power industry.

Candidate with have the following skills, knowledge and abilities :

• Driven to "own their domain". Ideal candidate will be driven to think independently on how to increase efficiencies.
• Ability to understand and apply basic graphical presentation concepts and drafting practices.
• Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment.
• Highly skilled working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suites.
• The ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring is a significant advantage. Advancement opportunities are available.

Entry level position, a two-year associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting or technology preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS :

• Normal office environment with occasional field trips to substation sites requiring ability to walk and traverse uneven ground and occasionally requiring occasional overnight (or longer) stays.
• Possess willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Works under direct supervision of higher-level designers / technicians / engineers.
• Performs mostly drafting / design support for assigned projects, utilizing computer aided design technology.
• Manages personal task assignments and adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks.
• Performs basic CAD and manual drafting based on mark-ups and direction obtained from designers and engineers.
• Assigned basic, routine drafting work with few technical items requiring resolution.
• Work is spot checked in progress and checked upon completion.
• Responsible for back checking own work to minimize rework.

Required

Less than 5 years :

Entry / Mid Level Drafting / Design Technician. Must be Proficient in utilizing AutoCAD and possess a understanding of drafting to support design projects.

Understanding of schematics and wiring is highly desirable.
