Description

The Director’s position is a senior management position and serves a critical role in shaping our company’s future and building relationships with our customers. Prior experience associated in the Electric Power Industry is mandatory for this position.

Leadership

  • Continually recruit new associates and develop new business opportunities for your team

Business Planning and Development

  • Identify and plan for new business opportunities

  • Create and manage budgets for your teams

Customer Service and Customer Quality

  • Coach, mentor, and be a leader to your Program Managers, Project Managers, and Project Engineers
  • Define your and your teams’ goals for excellence in terms of customer service and quality and assist your team in achieving and surpassing those goals
  • Be a Quality Champion and a partner with Mesa’s Quality Management team to receive and provide feedback from/to all internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuous process improvement
  • Monitor projects, programs and/or portfolios during project execution phases and proactively assist your project teams to achieve internal and external KPI’s

Key Business Management Areas

  • Promote a strong safety culture within your office and ensure your teams incorporates safe work practices into all activities.

  • Embrace change and identify opportunities to improve our processes and product for Mesa’s customers.
  • Provide effective leadership for your leads and their associates, delegating specific responsibilities to give your team members the opportunity to learn and grow.
  • Constantly review cost reports to ensure that all projects are operating within the approved budget guidelines
  • Conduct semi-annual management reviews to assess the effectiveness of procedures, systems, and policies
  • Ensure effective systems for work planning and profit control are implemented with your teams’ input, and are then used to review the performance of tasks
  • Prepare budgets and cash flow projections and meet with your business unit VP monthly to make certain you have the resources required for your goals
  • Represent Mesa as required in negotiations, discussions, contract development, professional/business meetings

Key Project Management Areas

  • Develop, review, and authorize projects, purchase orders, and associated department agreements at the final approval stage
  • Determine and negotiate service offerings, rates, and fees
  • Monitor projects, programs and/or portfolios during project execution phases and proactively coach and mentor project leaders and teams to achieve internal and external KPI’s

Key Business Planning and Development Areas

  • Identify new and expanded business opportunities
  • Solicit, develop, and grow new customers and find new ways to serve our existing customers
  • Bring your experience and expertise to Mesa’s budgeting, acquisition, growth, and retention strategies
  • Bids/Proposals experience to support directing bid/proposal activities
  • Negotiate fees with support from Senior Management
  • Develop profitable business models to enable the business unit and the firm to achieve or surpass its annual profit goals
  • Take appropriate management and administrative action to help ensure that projects achieve the budgeted levels of contribution to overhead and profit.

Key Marketing Support Areas

  • Establish your teams specific marketing objectives for your current and future customers and work with business unit and corporate marketing departments to achieve these goals
  • Assist in the formulation of proposal content and development of representation material for interviews
  • Participate in presentations with current and potential customers

Key Associate recruitment/development/training

  • Continuously recruit new associates to join your team and provide them with an environment to succeed in their professional careers
  • Develop Mesa’s leaders of tomorrow by providing a diverse and inclusive workspace that attracts and retains future leaders.
  • Actively participate in the recruiting, selection, training and development of your office teams’ growth

Professional Certifications Required

  • Active PE license or PMP certification
