Reports to: Safety Director

Location: Candidate can live in Florida, Atlanta or Houston areas

Travel: 50 – 75% within the U.S.

Mersino is an established, but growing competitor in the construction dewatering and pumping industry. Founded in 1988, we pursue projects requiring a high level of expertise and professionalism throughout the country. 

The Regional Safety Manager will be responsible to drive safety as a top priority throughout the organization by consistently developing, communicating and enforcing safety programs; all while ensuring to support the ability of the company to drive revenue. In this respect, the Regional Safety Manager will serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.

Travel, up to 75%, to our out-of-state locations and our job sites is an essential requirement of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage company safety initiatives and programs
  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive branch safety scorecard program
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive branch safety audit program
  • Complete branch safety audits at regular intervals
  • Implement monthly branch safety audits and enforce compliance
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive job site safety audit program
  • Complete job site safety audits at regular intervals
  • Travel to conduct branch and job-site safety inspections and implement solutions to correct deficiencies
  • Understands clients' safety expectations and ensures company policies and procedures meet and exceed these expectations.
  • Coordinate with branch managers and company leaders to ensure safety training is administered and maintained
  • Audit fleet safety and DOT compliance company-wide
  • Act as the first point of contact for the branch-level teams seeking support or information related to safety or company safety initiatives
  • Report all accident and incident with the appropriate entities in a timely fashion
  • Complete investigations for all workplace accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Review and update all safety policies and procedures at least annually
  • Ensure that the Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Safety or in a related field preferred, or an equivalent amount of Construction Safety Experience
  • Experience with drilling, mining or pipeline preferred.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Work experience in construction safety preferred
  • OSHA 500and knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to construction
  • FMCSA and DOT knowledge
  • Willingness and ability to present safety messages and training to groups of people
  • Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects
  • Proficient in MS Office and other required PC software applications
  • CHST preferred
  • Bi-lingual preferred
