MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is Hiring a Case Manager - Autism Employment Services Near Springfield, MO

Position Overview:

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and professional Case Manager to join our Springfield Career Center team! The ideal candidate will support our mission, "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!" and embody our core values of respect, excellence and integrity.

MERS Goodwill's Autism Employment Program helps individuals on the Autism Spectrum prepare for the world of work through 1:1 support, social skills groups, community volunteering, placement services, and continued job supports. Staff assist individuals in building their program, designed around strengths and support needs. This position is a key member of the MERS Goodwill Career Center team, providing services from career exploration and making recommendations related to future employment all the way through securing and maintaining employment.

Primary Duties:

  • Reviews referral information, establishes professional relationships, performs timely intake, and develop/maintain individual plan for employment with all participants.
  • Maintains caseload size that is both programmatically and fiscally appropriate and ensures timely delivery of services.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with referral sources and provides ongoing communication regarding participant activities.
  • Utilizes referral information, intake information, job history, and local employment market in determining job goals. Also involves partnership with Employment Specialists and other staff based on program size and structure.
  • Works with participant and relevant supports to determine communication style, transportation needs, support needs, independent living needs, social supports, and threats to employment and make appropriate recommendations for accommodation or remediation.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of community resources and assistive technology relevant to caseload and of ADA guidelines related to accommodations. Educate employers as needed.
  • Documents all work with participants in progress notes, maintains notes and other agency documentation.
  • Maintains confidentiality according to agency guidelines, follows ethical guidelines.
  • Maintains knowledge of community resources that can be utilized to support participant needs (i.e., transportation, medical, childcare, utilities, etc.). Make referrals, advocate, and follow-up.
  • Completes training requirements annually to show program-specific knowledge.
  • Maintains program outcomes such as 2 new starts per month, 75% 90-day retention rate for participants placed in employment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required, coursework in social work, education, psychology, or related field strongly preferred. Experience working with individuals with an Autism diagnosis required. Also requires excellent written/verbal communication skills, driver’s license, and current insurance.
