Position Summary

The Retail Delivery Sales Manager will report directly to the VP of Retail Delivery, serving as the dotted-line reporting manager for all sales-related matters. In this role, the Retail Delivery Sales Manager will directly oversee the Contact Center and Financial Center managers in their sales responsibilities. The Retail Delivery Sales Manager is responsible for taking Meriwest Credit Union's growth, product, and marketing strategies and transforming them into trainings, tactics, tools, and metrics to ensure front-line team members can achieve and exceed sales goals.

In addition to influencing Meriwest's overall sales strategy, the Retail Delivery Sales Manager will be responsible overseeing and optimizing the sales process, new account opening and loan origination experiences. This includes development of tools and technology to support these processes, along with reporting and recognition of sales performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directly lead and manage Financial Center and Contact Center managers for all sales- related matters, serving as the primary point of contact in collaboration with the VP of Retail Delivery. Assists in the hiring process, providing input on staffing decisions ensure a cohesive and effective sales team. Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Provide ongoing coaching and training to branch managers for sales performance improvement.
  • Develop and implement training programs for branch managers, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s sales strategy. Frequently travel to each of the financial centers within the Meriwest Credit Union network to provide on-site support, conduct training sessions, and collaborate with branch managers. Responsible for acquiring and properly allocating resources necessary to support the staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the design and implementation of sales incentives and compensation plans. Collaborate with leadership to formulate and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the overall organizational goals. Conduct regular and thorough assessments of the current state of sales effectiveness within the organization. Implement reporting and recognition programs for sales performance, rewarding achievement and reinforcing ethical sales practices.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and member needs to inform the development of targeted and effective sales initiatives. Work closely with management and Marketing to establish, review, and enhance product offerings. Assess, recommend, and implement new features and modules to enhance the effectiveness of the sales team. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, actively incorporating innovative tools and techniques to enable sales team success. Continuously and proactively seeks opportunities to enhance sales enablement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all lending and deposit requirements, providing guidance and support to branch managers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce standardized compliance practices. Regularly assess project plans and progress, providing consolidated status reports to ensure transparency and effective decision-making. Maintains knowledge and educates teams on all products, services, technology and bank policies.
  • Define and actively manage third-party relationships to deliver programs and projects. Develop and deliver actionable sales reporting, dashboards, and analytics for executive and leadership teams. Develop and maintain internal and external networks to stay informed about industry trends. Establishes metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the credit union's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Business Administration or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years management experience required.
  • Minimum 8 years banking experience with an emphasis in sales required.
  • Extensive background in financial institution sales policies and procedures, banking regulations (state and federal) and employee development.
  • Must be extremely sales oriented and have a strong desire to continually surpass goals and sales targets. Proven ability in a competitive sales environment required.
  • Knowledge of business banking deposit accounts, payroll, merchant, and the ability to promote business banking loan options. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide work direction to others, communicate expectations and manage and appraise the performance of others.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, follow instructions, and maintain a high level of professional conduct.
  • NMLS SAFE ACT compliant. This position requires that you obtain, and maintain, a National Mortgage Licensing Systems (NMLS) number as required by the SAFE Act.
  • Must be PC literate; experience with banking software a strong plus.

Meriwest utilizes a grading system to determine salary ranges for all positions. Each grade is assigned a salary range which consists of a minimum, midpoint, and maximum rate. The Retail Delivery Sales Manager has a position grade 13 and is considered exempt for purposes of federal wage and hour law.

  • Salary Range: $104,890.93 to $157,336.39
  • Target Range: $104,890.93 to $131,113.66*

*The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications.
