Security Officer Inventory Control

Primarily M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM - however will work all shifts when needed

This position is for the purpose of overseeing the inventory and management of patient/visitor property that comes into MMC; in addition to maintaining all inventory logs associated with the equipment assigned and used by MMC security officers. This officer will maintain daily logs of confiscated/returned property of all patients/visitors that are entering MMC on a daily basis. This position will ensure that proper chain of custody of all property is being conformed to as described in the Standard of Work.The property management officer will assist in ensuring that all equipment i.e. radios, ID scanners etc. are kept in working order and report issues to the Director of Security or his/her designee. The property management officer will also assist the Director of Security with inventories of all other materials i.e. evidence/property bags, visitor ID labels etc. This position will also assist the assigned shifts if needed for emergencies, post coverage or any other duties assigned by the Directory of Security or his/her designee.

Education - Graduation from high school or the equivalent.

Experience - One year combined experience in Security and Inventory/property/evidence handling & organization required.

Licensure/Certification - International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification preferred. BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required.

For use of Meritus Vehicles: Valid Driver’s License, A driving record as required by law for vehicle expected to operate. No record of moving violations in the past three years is preferred. Certified copy of driving record is required to be provided by team member annually on date of birth. Acknowledgement with signature to “Attestation A” of Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Extensive knowledge of Security/Law Enforcement practices, good verbal/written skills and ability to communicate and deal effectively with staff, patients, visitors and physicians.
