The Person:

To be responsible for the safe transportation of and proper storage of supplies, finished goods and other materials within the plant. Supplying production with materials and supplies to operate the machines in a timely manner to assist in maintaining high OEEs

Your duties will also involve:

• Supply / Store: Supplying production with materials and supplies in a timely manner. Ensuring proper storage of all goods including removing and replacing all containers full of finished goods, and stacking and organizing goods. Assisting production when needed i.e. jobs that they are not on a forklift (helping in cast, machining, cleaning etc.) at supervisors discretion.
• Keeping accurate records: of incoming metal, hydraulic oil usage, alloy removal from trucks, and pre-weigh dross before taking over to trailers. Ensuring proper labeling on containers, and are free of conflicting TS16949 tags. Perform a pre-use safety check at the beginning of their shift and record the findings on a Forklift Daily Operator Check List.
• Safe transportation: of parts, product and equipment while on forklift. Includes the transportation of: clean mag; dies to and from toolroom; leaktesters and related fixtures; installation of trim tools; shot sleeves and throat plates to proper storage; metal pumps to D; and all goods to and from quarantine.
• Housekeeping: maintaining a clean and environmentally safe environment. Maintaining a safe work environment by following all safety procedures. Loading & unloading trailers safely, and fill trailers in scrap room.
• Evacuation Procedures: ensure forklift is parked in designated area in the event of a plant evacuation. Responsible for conducting a head count of office staff, quality support and engineering support in the event of a plant evacuation, and receive head counts from all necessary personnel, then report this head count to the ERT Coordinator, along with names of any visitors in plant and who is responsible for them. Provide instruction to evacuated employees when given notice to reenter the building.
• CI Improvements: Submit kaizens and participate in 5S 1 programs and training
• Other duties as required, including special projects as they arise.

Experience
Previous experience driving a forklift is required.

• Highschool or GED equivalent education.
• You will have good organization and time management skills and knowledge of the FIFO inventory system.
• You must be flexible to work in any of the areas of responsibility, able to work rotating shifts and the necessary overtime, and be a team-oriented problem solver.
• You must also be able to participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement challenges.
• You will be quality focused and able to work independently and as part of a team.
