Job Title Social Strategist Job Description We are looking for an experienced and analytical Social Strategist to join our team and contribute to growing our audiences and brands on social platforms. As a Social Strategist, you will report to the Director of Social Strategy and play a critical role in contributing to the development of your assigned brands’ social media strategies and initiatives. This position requires a person who can thrive in a matrixed environment, collaborate and build trust with cross-functional teams, and translate data, trends and consumer insights into actionable and tactical social strategy. To be successful in this role, you must be a problem-solver and an opportunity spotter. You are responsive, take initiative and super-serve your assigned brands and stakeholders. You keep a close pulse on culture and social trends. Note that this role does not involve content creation, executing social media posts or running social media campaigns. Responsibilities include: Strategy & Leadership: Develops and oversees the execution of social media strategies that align with our business goals and audience needs. Be creative and knowledgeable on what works on each social platform. Collaborates with stakeholders to develop a clear roadmap with goals, tracks and communicates progress and results. Insights & Analysis: Analyze audience data and social media metrics to uncover insights that inform data-led strategies. Synthesize data into “big picture” analysis and make data-backed recommendations with a focus on action and next steps. This includes going beyond the “what” to tell the “why”. Project Management & Activation: Identify and prioritize social experiments and cross-brand initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders and partners. Lead and coordinate the execution of experiments and initiatives. Industry Trends & Landscape: Maintain a sharp understanding of established and emerging industry trends, platform capabilities and cultural trends to provide recommendations and identify new opportunities for growth and innovation. Keep assigned brands informed of key updates and insights. Collaboration & Relationships: Successfully manage relationships with business stakeholders (editorial, marketing, video and other teams) so they view you as a strategic partner. Collaborate to develop strategy, gain alignment and ensure that the strategy and social best practices are understood and actioned appropriately. Acts as a strategic advisor. Communication & Presentations: Communicate social strategy, performance, priorities, best practices and trends to stakeholders across the organization. Develop presentations and business updates that crystalize complex concepts, initiatives and data into clear insights and actions. Reporting: regularly prepare reports that highlight social media performance against key metrics, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations that inform strategy. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
