Reports To: Assistant Vice President of Athletics
Full/Part Time: 10-month, Full-Time

SUMMARY
Mercyhurst University is seeking a qualified individual to assist the Director of Rowing in leading
a nationally competitive NCAA DII and Men’s IRA Lightweight program. This is a 10-month
appointment with full health and retirement benefits. Responsibilities will include administering
all phases of an intercollegiate rowing program. Candidates must be a team player and
demonstrate a proven success in competing and/or coaching at the collegiate or equivalent
high level. A commitment to the academic success of student-athletes is important as well as
providing the student athlete with a positive and rewarding experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruiting Coordinator for Lightweight men’s and women’s program
o Off campus recruiting visits.
o Coordinate official visits to campus for prospective student athletes
o Identifying and recruiting academically qualified students
o Designing and updating recruiting material
- Team travel management: including accommodation, meals, and where necessary help with
- On the water skill instruction and facilitator of the practice per the Head Coaches
- Running land practice, which may include running, erging, weightlifting or skill instruction as
- Training and preparing crews for racing at regattas.
- Basic rigging and maintenance of the rowing shells and boathouse and land facilities as
- Assist with fundraising activities and the ordering and purchasing of official team apparel
approved by the Head Coach.
- Assist the Head coach with alumnae relations.
- Assist the Head Coach with general program administration including athlete compliance,
- Administering of student athlete study hall sessions.
- The individual should have a thorough knowledge and use of social media.
