Overview

Looking for Radiologic Technologist for Rock County for two of our clinic locations.

Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures.
• Depending on clinic assignment, may also perform patient reception, phlebotomy/specimen collection duties, rooming patients, and taking vital signs.
• Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available to the radiologist and provider.
• Prepares and positions patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
• Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
• Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Immobilizes patient as required for examination.
• Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patient during procedures.
• Initiates basic life support when necessary.
• Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
• Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
• Uses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.
• Provides practical instruction for radiography students and other partners.
• Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers.
• Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
• Utilities appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers.

Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology

Certification/Licensure

ARRT Radiography registration requiredIEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in IllinoisWI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in WisconsinApproved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of hire
