Mercyhealth is Hiring a Manager Emergency Department Near Janesville, WI

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and evaluate systems and programs towards the provision of quality services in the EMS and Emergency Services departments.

Support the coordination of budget preparation, determining purchasing priorities, and making capital expenditure recommendations.

Collaborates with Medical Directors, Director, and other members of the team in the EMS and Emergency Services departments.

Facilitate the development of business plans for EMS and Emergency Services departments.

Requires a broad knowledge of emergency services, business development, marketing, healthcare and business administration, human resources management, fiscal management and planning.

Strong problem solving abilities in complex situations. 

Strong financial skills; ability to manage budgets and teams to meet organizational objectives.

Experience with process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change. Knowledge of continuous quality improvement management principles and practices.

Develops implements, evaluates, and enforces department and system policies, procedures and necessary protocols to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and accreditation organizations.

Must possess strong relationship skills with a variety of internal and external contact relationships including physicians, nurses, instructors, and EMS providers.

Experience in areas of cost savings, expenditure controls, and efficiencies in health care operations. Ability to work within budgets and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives. 

Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Able to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and groups through compassion, creativity, and consistent visibility.

Participates in and leads hospital and department committees.

Perform related duties based on departmental and organizational need.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited school of nursing or paramedic program. Bachelor's Degree required; MBA/MHA/MPA or other related field preferred. Must be familiar with the workings of out-of-hospital emergency care (EMS), the emergency department and trauma services. Business, reporting and budget management experience in healthcare environment required.Previous experience in both out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergency care, strongly preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Required to maintain nursing license or paramedic certification throughout employment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSPassing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring)Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or Illinois Health Care Workers Background CheckMust be able to follow written/oral instructions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of organization and position structure as well as ability to learn and utilize guidelines, rules, procedures, policies, regulations, precedents as applied to the operations and program development within Emergency Department, EMS and Trauma Services Departments.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
