Overview:

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for maintaining information flow in the managed carereferral process for all contracted managed care health plans. Performs duties andresponsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma required.
• Experience: Work experience in a physician's office or medical institutionwith exposure to managed care and primary care rules and practices.
• Other:
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgement, problem-solving, anddecision-making.Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships withstaff, doctors, nurses, patients, and managed carerepresentatives.
  • Skill in organizing work to achieve clinic goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursementrequirements.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications
