Overview:

Assists in the planning, developing, organizing, directing and managing the operation of the Medical Administration Department, to meet the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission Standards, and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Oversees the maintenance of provider databases and other information needed by Mercy to meet applicable business needs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree required.

• Certifications: Certification by National Association of Medical Staff Services or willing and able to become certified within five (5) years.

• Preferred Education: Training and experience includes credentialing of physicians and knowledge of regulatory standards, as well as technical knowledge of automated computer system and maintenance of same.

• Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum three to five years experience in the Medical Staff Office 

  • Knowledge of administrative and Medical Staff functions 

  • Experience in managing and coordinating symposia, conferences, CME and special events 

  • Knowledge of MSMA/ACCME/AMA regulations regarding CME programs
