Mercy Home Health is a 5 star agency in customer satisfaction. Our nurses enjoy an autonomous way of providing healthcare to patients out in the community in the patient's home. Our staff bring a high level of care to various patients of different social backgrounds, cultures, age groups, and social dynamics. Community based nursing allows Mercy Home Health to provide a personal touch to the patients we meet while seeing them through to success.
Overview:
Responsible for providing skilled nursing services to patients in their homes under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Mustassess, plan, implement and evaluate patients needs and care. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with ourmission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prefer one year experience in a related field.Licensure: Current LPN license in the state of Missouri. Must be a licensed driver.Certifications: BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association is required.
Other skills & knowledge: Complies with accepted professional standards and principles. Understands Hospice philosophy; issues related to death/dying and grief. Complies with Unity Health Hospice Health Status requirements. Has ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner. Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has ability to work within an interdisciplinary team. Employee has significant impact on patient welfare. Effects or errors in determining patient condition or administering medication could be critical. Employee is frequently to continuously alone with patient and must be able to handle emergencies without assistance. Employee must be able to assist falling or fallen patient; must be able to perform CPR alone.Individual homes may present poor lighting situations, exposure to pets and other allergens, pest infestations and poor cleanliness. Employee may be exposed to irate and abusive patients and families. Employee must be able to assess home situation for possible patient abuse. Employee may be required to drive at night and/or in hazardous conditions; must be able tofollow written/verbal instructions and read a map. Employee must independently schedulepatient visits in timely and efficient manner; checking in with office daily to update schedule. Employee has regular contact with agency staff members, physicians, hospital or medical center staff, general public. Employee regularly handles confidential information.
