Job Overview: Mercy Vineyard's goal on Sunday mornings and throughout the week is to provide a welcoming environment so that individuals of all ages and backgrounds can connect to God and each other. We believe that connection outside of Sunday mornings is a vital and important part of our church community, but more importantly, in our walk with Jesus. We were not created to do life alone. In order to have healthy groups and connections, leaders must be recruited, trained, and cared for. This pastor will oversees the processes, systems, and leaders to best facilitate and sustain these connections.

Connections

• Lead the Sunday Morning Connections Team
• Welcome, connect, and engage with individuals who are new to Mercy Vineyard Church
• Facilitate the monthly Welcome Gathering in coordination with the Lead Pastor
• Establish and maintain a process for following up and streamlining the onboarding process into the Mercy community
• Manage and oversee Connection Events at Mercy. Working with other staff and volunteers, create a culture with multiple opportunities for members and visitors to get to know each other.

Mercy Groups

• Identify, train, and recruit new group leaders utilizing a team model of leadership.
• Organize and implement Mercy Group Sundays and work with the Communications Director to continue to highlight Mercy Groups throughout the calendar year.
• Provide pastoral care for group leaders.
• Establish a process of tracking group members and groups’ focus each season.
• Resource and troubleshooting as issues arise for Group Leaders.

Mid-Week Programming

• Oversee the development of Wednesday night classes, identifying and recruiting class leaders and working with Mercy staff to ensure a variety of classes are offered.
• Recruit and oversee a team of volunteers for Wednesday night activities.
• Work with staff to communicate Wednesday night opportunities.

Community Connection

• Build and maintain a relationship with a local organization.
• Coordinate at least 1 event in partnership with Mercy Vineyard once every calendar year.

Qualifications

• Passionate about the vision and mission of Mercy Vineyard Church.
• Passionate about using his/her gifts to minister to the congregation.
• Exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23.
• Lives out a commitment to prayer and the study of God’s word.
• Spiritually mature yet committed to continued spiritual growth and being in community with other believers.
• Proven ability to lead leaders and develop others.
• Possess the ability to be organized and multi-task proficiently, while also being an excellent problem-solver.
• Able to work collaboratively.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and excellent at following through on details.
• Able to use appropriate judgment, discretion, and sensitivity and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Is a “doer” - able to execute given tasks and vision.
• Able to handle conflict in a Godly manner. 3
• Strong people skills and team player.

Experience & Education:

● Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, but not required.

● 2-5 years of experience in ministry.

● Experience serving in the church in high-level leadership.

● Ordained pastor is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $54,950.07 per year
