Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' health status
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patient progress and outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred
- Experience in pediatrics, triage, tube feeding, laboratory procedures, medication administration, phlebotomy, acute care, infection control, and Athenahealth electronic health record system is highly desirable
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
