Mercy Medical Center - Cedar Rapids is Hiring a C.O.T.A.- Occupational Therapy Near Rapids, IA
- Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides occupational services reassessing the client's status on each visit, and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record
- Coordinates client care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal client care and communications evidenced in the clinical record
- Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved, as evidenced in the clinical record
- Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in occupational therapy
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards
- Follows exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives
- Communicates to Occupational Therapist any change in patient status or need to change/update goals
- Good interpersonal relationships
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient use of computer – ability to type
- One year experience preferred
- Education sufficient to obtain licensure in the state of Iowa
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure from state of Iowa required.
- Will consider a candidate with Limited Permit license per Iowa Administrative code.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training prior to start or transfer date.
- Heavy: Exert 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25-50lbs. of force frequently
