Mercy Housing Management Group is Hiring a Remote Area Manager of Operations - Arizona Portfolio

As the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in the nation, we build, preserve, and manage program-enriched housing across the country.

We are seeking two new Area Managers of Operations for our southwest region based in the Phoenix area. This position ensures that the operations of the properties in assigned area of oversight in Arizona are in compliance with the standards and expectations of Operational Excellence, other stated guidelines of Mercy Housing Management Group (MHMG). Complete all reasonable work-related directives given by his/her supervisor and above. Responsible for monitoring and directing all management-related activities with site-level personnel and other Mercy Housing-related departments to ensure that the Essential Functions are met on a regular and consistent basis. Assist Area Director with functions and projects outside the scope of the assigned properties.

Pay: $75,000-85,000/salary DOE

Duties:

  • Ensures that rent collection procedures are followed, and benchmarks are achieved.
  • Ensures that occupancy levels are at budgeted levels and higher, if possible.
  • Ensures that the rents allowed under regulatory programs are being achieved.
  • Ensures that property budgets are developed and managed proactively.
  • Ensures that contracts are regularly reviewed and negotiated.
  • Ensures that all regulatory compliance requirements and reporting are followed, monitored, and completed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Working knowledge of applicable local and federal housing laws, including Fair Housing and Landlord and Tenant laws.
  • Experience generating property budgets and managing affordable housing developments, including HUD, Low Income Tax Credits, Rural Housing, and Tax-Exempt Bond properties.
  • Exposure to/familiarity with community organizing, services, and programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate and/or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a supervisor of multi-housing and/or property management.
  • Certified Property Manager or similar certification.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Superior written and verbal communication and relationship management skills.
  • Comprehend and communicate in the English language both orally and in writing.
  • Interpret and understand financial information generated from property management software reports.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrate highly effective problem-solving and flexibility skills while remaining focused on solutions.
