Dignity Health Mercy Hospital of Folsom is the community hospital serving the Sierra foothills communities of Folsom El Dorado Hills Granite Bay Cameron Park Shingle Springs and Rescue. Mercy Hospital of Folsom provides surgical services including minimally-invasive general urological and gynecological surgeries. We also provide comprehensive and award-winning orthopedic services which include surgery inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and specialty orthopedic care. As a certified Joint Commission Stroke Center Mercy Folsom provides exceptional care to our patients in our Medical Surgical and Intensive Care units as well as our 25-bed Emergency Department. Our Family Birth Center features private and contemporary birthing suites where labor delivery and recovery occur in one room as well as award-winning lactation training and support. Mercy Folsom received Among America’s 250 Best Hospitals recognition and is a Primary Stroke Center.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The position requires independent critical thinking. The ability to communicate a respiratory assessment to Physicians and other Allied Health Professionals is critical in performing the duties as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. The RCP may be required to work independently and will be required to triage patient care. May access medication storage areas in accordance with their job function and hospital policy.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree
  • Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
  • Five years of experience in direct and indirect respiratory care services including (but not limited to) the administration of pharmacological diagnostic and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement a treatment disease prevention pulmonary rehabilitative or diagnostic regimen prescribed by a physician and surgeon
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
