Primary Function/General Purpose Of PositionThe Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) provides direct patient care for patients with mental health conditions in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.
The preferred candidate: Counselor or Therapist (LPC/LPCC/LICDC/LMFT) for this position or even a dually licensed Expressive Therapist (Masters in Art/Dance/Music with an LPC/LPCC).
Essential Job Functions
  • Conducts thorough psychosocial assessments (within scope and clinical supervisor) Provides clinical diagnoses based on assessments.
  • Participate in the development/expansion of the plan of care with any needed revisions. The plan outlines therapeutic goals and strategies or interventions that will help patient achieve these goals.
  • Provides individual therapy sessions to clients.
  • Utilize variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and interventions for personalized treatment plan for clients manage and overcome their mental health challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough client records, including assessment notes, treatment plans, progress notes, and any other relevant documentation required.
  • Set goals and time frames for achievement of goals that are appropriate to the patient, physician and other members of the health care team.
  • Utilize supportive counseling strategies during all interaction with patients and families to address crisis, stress, grief or any other emotional circumstances to facilitate and promote coping with care related to management of chronic disease.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and medical doctors, to provide holistic care to clients.
  • Ensure community resource knowledge and collaboration.

Licensing/CertificationLicensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with National Counselor Examination (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) (required)
  • If employed in Ohio and/or Kentucky, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation (LPCC-S ) (required)
  • If employed in Virginia and/or South Carolina, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation (LPC-S) (required)
EducationMasters, Counseling (required)
Work Experience2 years of recent experience counseling in a medical or behavioral health setting (required)
TrainingEPIC Electronic Health Record (preferred)
