Pediatrics

JOB SUMMARY (2-4 sentences)

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services within the hospital, clinics and other locations as needed. The PT will be responsible for the evaluation and management of physical therapy, patient/family/and caregiver education, communication with patients and providers, maintenance of the clinical record, participation in the care team, supervision of the PTA, and attendance of educational seminars germane to the practice of Physical Therapy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (7-10 statements)

20%Notes diagnosis of patient and takes all precautions for observing indications and contraindications. Evaluates inpatient and outpatients on initial visit.Assess and evaluate patients using standardized and non-standardized tests. Develop individualized treatment programs to help patients reach their personal goals.

30%Maintains responsibility to his/her patient. Observes and evaluates treatment effect. Selects and administers the right techniques, modalities and interventions for the best outcomes. Monitors patients and modifies the plans, as needed.

10�rries out treatment prescribed or treatment plan.Obtains and interpret prescriptions and orders for services, as required.

10%Applies or directs others in the application of treatment and the running of the department. Directs supportive staff of secretary, assistants, athletic trainers, and aide as needed.

5�ucates patient, family and those deemed necessary to patients diagnosis, treatment and precautions to be alerted to. Works with the patients, families, caregivers and treatment team for discharge planning.

5%Maintains medical records. Find ways to improve processes for patient care and data collection, and be a problem solver.

5%Maintains and develops superior clinical skills while promoting an atmosphere of education and learning. Take part in clinical education, continuing education, in-services and other learning opportunities and educate others. Be a fitness and wellness instructor for community programs, as needed.

5%Discharges effectively all professional tasks delegated by the Manager of Physical Therapy.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Required Minimum Education:

Specialty/Major:Physical Therapy

Preferred Education:

Specialty/Major:advanced degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):

Required: Current licensure as Physical Therapist License in Ohio. CPR certification.

Preferred:Additional certification in a specialty(OCS,SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women's Health)Eligibility for licensure in other states, a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Years and Type of Experience:None required, but considered.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Has in-depth knowledge of a specialized technical or administrative field, or a broad working of a professional field. Analyzes and interprets complicated information.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:Determines a course of action based on general guidelines. May modify existing forms, procedures, or general guidelines. May use highly sophisticated equipment requiring extensive training
