QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a Physical Therapy educational program accredited by the A.P.T.A. and have completed the educational
requirements stated in the Ohio Revised Code 4755-23-02(A).
EXPERIENCE:
None required, but considered.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge and skill required to perform the job responsibilities for both technical and dimensional content.
Has in-depth knowledge of a specialized technical or administrative field, or a broad working of a professional field.
Analyzes and interprets complicated information.
Determines a course of action based on general guidelines.
May modify existing forms, procedures, or general guidelines.
May use highly sophisticated equipment requiring extensive training
PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING:
The degree to which judgment and analysis must be exercised in planning, investigating issues, and evaluating alternative solutions to the challenges posed by the job. Deals with the nature of the decisions, the variety of problems, and how decisions are made in context of the typical requirements of the job.
Makes decisions based on an analysis of facts and general principles.
Evaluates existing plans, programs, and processes based on established objectives.
Exercises significant risk-taking, judgment, and creativity to identify and analyze problems.
SCOPE OF IMPACT/ACCOUNTABILITY:The potential impact of actions on results of Humility of Mary Health Partners and the job’s accountability for achieving results.

Exchanges non-routine information/technical details with others who may not be completely knowledgeable of subject area.
Requires sensitivity and tact to present/defend controversial information.
PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Notes diagnosis of patient and takes all precautions for observing indications and contraindications.
A. Evaluates inpatient on initial visit.
B. Evaluates outpatients on initial visit.
2. Applies or directs others in the application of treatment and the running of the department. Maintains responsibility
to his/her patient.
A. Carries out treatment prescribed or treatment plan using the following procedures taking all precautions for
observing indications and contraindications:
a. Heat/Cold.
b. Electrical Stimulation.
c. Traction..
d. Therapeutic Exercise.
B. Delegates to others specific treatment responsibilities they are capable to perform.
C. Directs supportive staff of secretary, assistants, athletic trainers, and aide as needed.
D. Observes and evaluates treatment effect.
E. Recommends change in plan of care to Physician if indicated and discusses with Manager of Physical
Therapy and Sports Medicine.
3. Educates patient, family and those deemed necessary to patients diagnosis, treatment and precautions to be alerted to.
4. Maintains medical records.
A. Keeps progress reports, Medicare forms, etc. up to date and to JCAHO standards.
B. Files reports of patients progress with Physicians.
5. Maintains and develops superior clinical skills while promoting an atmosphere of education and learning.
A. Studies current trends and new developments in Physical Therapy by survey or literature.
B. Maintains valid Ohio State license.
C. Attends continuing education as mandated by state law.
D. Conducts or assists in educational programs to the Physical Therapy staff or others in the hospital
within level of expertise.
6. Discharges effectively all professional tasks delegated by the Manager of Physical Therapy.
