  Performs painting and associated tasks.Patches, repairs, paintsa variety of surfaces.Applies paint and other forms of wall coverings.Assist other trades as needed.

  • Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, paint roller and other equipment. Paints ceilings, wall and floors as required. Paints parking lot equipment and lines for parking spaces as required.
  • Repairs walls as necessary prior to painting. Installs drywall materials, tapes, and applies the necessary drywall compound. Repairs and installs plastering and wall coverings. Refinishes furniture, beds and hospital equipment and makes necessary repairs as required.
  • Prepares all surfaces for painting using sandpaper, wire brush, steel wool, and etc. Removes old paint from surfaces for painting.
  • Maintains existing paint and wood surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint and stain products.
  • Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for Painters and others. Creates barrier to keep work area dirt/dust contained.
  • Assists other maintenance staff with construction projects, general maintenance, etc.

  MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Years and Type of Experience:1 yr experience as a painter;2 - 5 years experience preferred.

  Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Basic math skills for interpreting amount of paint needed for assignments Skilled in painting and preparation of materials for finishing/painting. Knowledge of wall covering, painting materials, mixing paint and their application.
