Required Minimum Education: Associate's Degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
Required:
Licensed by the State of Ohio, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Athletic Trainer Board, BLS.
Preferred:
Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates with Occupational Therapists to develop and deliver individualized or group patient treatment based on evaluation results, POC and established patient goals.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation and billing of patient treatment. Documents discharge data/summary as needed. All documentation must be co-signed by an Occupational Therapist
- Consults with Occupational Therapist regarding changes in patient status, treatment plan, and STG/LTGs
- Provides education to patients and their families
- Communicates with nursing staff, case management, social workers, PT, SLP, patients/families, and physicians to promote optimal patient care and customer service.
- Attends department/hospital wide meetings and participates in interdisciplinary teams as assigned.
- Communicates with OT Manager to maintain patient care equipment supplies. Demonstrates stewardship of resources and maintains department productivity standards.
- Maintains educational requirements/advances technical job skills through seminars and continuing education. Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development. Provides clinical supervision for OTA students
- Participates in quality activities/programs within the department.
