ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent is responsible for transporting patients between departments within the medical center discharge to home and other operational duties as assigned. Demonstrates competency in safe and efficient transporting for neonate pediatric adult and geriatric patients. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs needles or syringes from storage locations (such as large stock supplies automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Six (6) months related experience that will support necessary skills and ability of job description.
- Ability to lift patients onto gurney and to assist them into and out of a wheelchair.
- Read and comprehend instructions written in English.
- Use courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
- Calm and reassure distressed patients.
- Perform basic clerical functions, maintain patient confidentially.
- Follow established protocos and work effectively under ultiple priorities and adjust priorities.
- As circustances require, maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details.
- Current BLS
- Knowledge of alphabetic and numeric filing system and knowledge of proper body mechanics and patient safety.
- Knowledge of: Regulatory requirements related to confidentiality; Medical terminology; Infection control; Body mechanics; CPR; Operation of oxygen tanks; County State Federal and Joint Commission standards and practices
