SUMMARY

The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the pick up and delivery of ground support equipment and trucking operations, considering customer requirements, equipment demand, and delivery timelines, utilizing internal trucking as well as brokered vendors.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirement that represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an "at-will" relationship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and schedule pick-up and delivery of ground support equipment
  • Monitor and track the movement of equipment and trucks, ensuring adherence to schedules and resolving any logistics issues promptly 
  • Pull tracking updates through partner carrier systems
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize truck utilization, maintenance, and driver schedules
  • Manage relationships with job site brokered vendors, ensuring reliable supplies and timely coordination of logistics
  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, customer needs, etc.
  • Liaise with sales, fleet and other stakeholders to understand equipment and trucking requirements, providing optimal transportation solutions
  • Collaborate with rental service providers, trucking companies, and internal teams to streamline processes, ensure seamless operations and establish effective partnerships and negotiate favorable terms 
  • Ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards for internal trucks, drivers, and equipment transportation
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with regulations and address any non-compliance issues promptly
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Degree or equivalent 
  • At least three years of related experience coordinating logistics for rental equipment and trucking services
  • Familiarity with maintenance and safety practices related to heavy equipment, trucking, and transportation
  • Proficiency in using logistics management software, transportation management systems, and other relevant tools for logistics coordination and scheduling
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data and metrics to make informed decisions and optimize logistics operations. 
  • Personal qualities of integrity and credibility
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to perform well under pressure meeting all organizational deadlines
  • Possess a strong work ethic and willing to contribute to a positive and teamwork-oriented work culture.
