Merchco Services, Inc. is a national retail services provider that specializes in new store set up and chain-wide remodels for national specialty retailers throughout the United States. We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee all aspects of construction-related projects from start to finish, including subcontractor/vendor coordination, strong servant leadership, and execution of retail construction remodels and rollouts.

Expectations:

• Oversee subcontractor coordination, skill evaluation, and internal team member execution for multiple projects simultaneously under a deadline.
• Identify and build relationships with local subcontractors.
• Prepare and update Project Schedules as needed during progress.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and Merchco Managers and Superintendents regarding all aspects and status of construction projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employees, clients, potential clients, subcontractors, and vendors to help develop new opportunities.
• Travel to sites and be on site for multiple weeks at a time, client meetings, and installation projects as needed.
• Occasionally physically assist on site to build camaraderie and keep on Schedule.
• Evaluate and develop in-house tradespeople to perform construction-related duties. Including Coaching and teaching skills.
• Perform administrative duties for construction projects as required (operate Microsoft Office, write daily emails, time clock management, inventory, and organization management)
• Interact with municipality officials for permit-related tasks, call and schedule inspections, walk with inspectors and react to issues, and follow up to final certificate of occupancy.
• Review and Take Off; drawings, schedules, and scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Proactively identify and solve project issues related to cost, schedule, safety, or quality.
• Review and Qualify Cost Reporting against Budgets for P&L analysis.

Required Attributes:

• Working experience and knowledge of commercial construction projects.
• Retail construction experience a plus – both remodels and buildouts.
• Estimating experience, a plus.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). A strong proficiency in Excel is required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented, conscious of common goals.
• Great organizational, time-management, and customer service skills.
• Leadership skills and the ability to delegate tasks, give clear orders, and oversee projects.
• Technical skills to interpret construction methods, contracts, and drawings.

Ability to ultimately manage multiple projects at the same time if size, scope, and geography allow.

• Willingness to adapt to Merchco culture including stepping in and willing to get hands dirty.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
