Mercedes-Benz R&D North America is Hiring a People Operations Compensation and Human Capital Management (HCM) Analyst Near Farmington, MI

Embedded in a worldwide network Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America continuously strives to remain at the forefront of successful automotive research and development. MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.

The Compensation Analyst function will be a member of the Operations Team within the MBRNDA People Team. This position will perform a variety of technical compensation activities related to the company’s compensation programs. This includes the maintenance of the Human Capital System(s) and supporting administrative functions. This will include but is not limited to analyzing salary benchmark data, compensation data analysis, analysis of job levels correlating to pay, administration of annual compensation programs, compensation-related compliance activities such as pay equity analysis and re-classification analyses. This position will work to ensure Mercedes Benz Research & Development compensation and organizational programs remain competitive and fair.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary analyst for PeopleSoft/Workday, serving as the lead for all system enhancement projects including an upcoming WorkDay integration.
  • Maintain and frequently update the MBRDNA Compensation Program Guidelines
  • Automate frequent reporting requests from HCM’s PeopleSoft and WorkDay.
  • Overall accountability for HCM data integrity, accuracy and usability of employee data and related interfaces.
  • Implement adequate auditing processes and backup systems
  • Provide analytical support in the development, administration, and implementation of Mercedes Benz Research & Development compensation and organizational programs.
  • Determine and make compensation recommendations to management and People Business Partners pertaining to hiring, promotions and other wage adjustments.
  • Support in the interpretation of compensation policies and guidelines regarding issues related to compensation.
  • Assist in managing Long Term Incentive (LTI) and Short Term Incentive (STI) programs.
  • Participate in the analysis, data submission, recommendation, and packaging of industry-wide salary surveys.
  • Assist in compensation refresh analysis as needed in line with market data changes.
  • Provide analytical support and data analysis metrics on projects.
  • Ensure adherence to MBRDNA policies, processes and maintain compliance with Mercedes Benz policies and guidelines.
  • Manage salary structure creation and maintenance.
  • Other duties, functions and projects as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of fundamental compensation concepts and HR practices.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Strong familiarity with HCM systems (PeopleSoft and WorkDay).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analyze and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Data and cost analysis experience to assess market results and trends
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Conducting research, analyzing information, data and presenting findings in a concise format.
  • Self-starter, curious and a problem solving.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High level skill in Excel - pivot tables, v/h lookups.
  • Creating Reports and Data Reporting (Pay Trends).
  • Presentation document Creation
  • Prior Human Resources compensation experience.
