Job description:
MBUSA seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to support our data governance initiatives. As a Principle, Data Governance analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective management of data assets, quality, and security. You will assist in developing and implementing data governance processes, conducting data analysis, and supporting data governance activities throughout the organization
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for extracting, transforming, and analyzing data to support decision-making within the organization.
•Establish & maintain close collaboration with data stewards to ensure data quality and access the necessary data to perform their analysis
•Assist in developing and implementing data governance processes, policies, and guidelines specific to the automotive industry, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
•Support processes to standardization and automate the management and use of data across the organization
•Assist the data governance team in conducting data profiling and quality assessments to identify data issues, anomalies, and areas for improvement
•Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document data definitions, data standards, and data classification rules for automotive data domains such as marketing, sales, finance, vehicle parts, customer, and supply chain data, etc.,
•Work closely with IT teams to document data flows, data sources, and data lineage to ensure transparency and accuracy of data throughout its lifecycle
•Participate in data governance committee meetings, capturing meeting minutes, tracking action items, and assisting in preparing governance reports and presentations
•Assist in implementing and maintaining data governance tools and technologies, such as data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality management solutions
Qualifikationen Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information technology, Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer science or information systems, Data Science, and Engineering
•5 years of experience in data governance, data catalogs, data analysis, or a related role, preferably within the automotive industry
•Experience with data management & big data tools, SQL, and NoSQL databases
•Experience with data privacy, protection, clearing, retention, and archiving
•Experience in IT security, compliance, and cyber security would be advantageous
•Certifications in IT security or data governance would be preferred
•Familiarity with automotive industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, such as automotive data privacy regulations, vehicle data security, and data sharing agreements
•Solid understanding of data governance principles, processes, and best practices, with a willingness to expand knowledge in the field
•Proficient in data analysis techniques and tools, with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and uncover data quality issues
•Hands-on experience with data governance tools, data cataloging tools, metadata management solutions, and data quality management tools is a plus. (Collibra, Alation, Unity Catalog, etc.)
•Experience with data management, data quality, data assets, physical, logical data models, and data archiving.
•Experience with compliance for data analytics on cloud platforms.
•Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act) is beneficial
•Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions
•Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a passion for data governance and its impact on business operations within the automotive industry
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
