Do you love working with young kids?

The part -time Prevention Specialist will help out in our indoor Summer Camp for young kids. The summer camp offers games and activities that lead to a curriculum is designed to increase the kids' resilience, self-esteem, conflict resolution and communication skills and helping kids to make healthy choices and avoid substance abuse in the future. The position is for 12 hours per week in July and August and could lead to a 24 hour/week position in the fall.

Qualifications include an interest in working with kids and families, good presentation and communication skills. The position could also lead to a great opportunity to learn about approaches to positive parenting.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associates or bachelor’s degree (preferred), Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), Certified Health Educator, Certified School Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor; Majors from the fields of education, social works, health sciences, psychology and others are welcome to apply.
• Experience in social work, education, and mental health fields
• Good public speaker, enjoys working with kids and families
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
