Mental Health Partners is Hiring a Community-Base Crisis Respite Staff Near Lafayette, CO

$17.70 - $22.12

*Hours occur mainly evenings and weekends. 3 hours minimum required per shift, shifts can be up to 10 hours. PRN staff must pick up at least 2 shifts per month*

Purpose:

Community-Base Crisis Respite provides short-term supportive services to kids and adults who have experienced a behavioral health crisis in the client’s home and the community, providing one on one support to individuals aged 5 and up and providing respite for caregivers. The service is intended to provide emotional respite to caregivers and relief from the stresses of caring for the individual, as well as additional coaching for the client.

Job Summary:

The Community-Base Crisis Respite Staff support the individual in the utilization of skills that focus on coping with crisis, managing emotions, improving relationships, and maintaining daily routine and activities of daily living. Staff also support caregivers with identifying and connecting to community resources.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Build professional relationships with clients and caregivers to assist them in identifying, developing, and practicing skills for crisis management.
  • Assist in the development of health goals in an individualized, person-centered service plan.
  • Medication administration is part of the position
  • Assist clients in obtaining services that support the respite client’s behavioral health needs by providing community resources that may be useful.
  • Help youth and families develop and utilize natural supports.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed, utilizing trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation per clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Promote, support, and demonstrate MHP’s mission, vision, and values through behavior, job performance and adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of programs and business processes.
  • Work evening and weekend hours.

What We Need:

  • Ability to work with individuals with behavioral health concerns in a caring and professional manner.
  • Staff need to be able to work with both kids and adults and be comfortable providing care while caregivers are not there
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Provide professional presentations of client’s needs and recommendations for care planning.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting and advocate for the needs and goals of clients and families with professional respect for and understanding of standards of practice and system constraints.
  • Must be 21 years old, have a safe driving record, a current Colorado driver’s license and ability to travel within Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
