Mental Health Minnesota is Hiring a Youth Mental Health Coordinator Near Paul, MN

Reports to: Executive Director

Staff Direct Reports: None

Job Type: Part-time (0.75 FTE, 30 hours per week), flexible hours

Location: This position is based at Mental Health Minnesota's office in Saint Paul. Up to 40% of work hours may be available as remote work after the first 60 days of employment. All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota and be able to work required hours at the organization's office.

Position Summary: The position is responsible for coordinating programs, services, outreach and education related to youth mental health on behalf of Mental Health Minnesota. This includes coordination of RELATE youth peer support online chat service, as well as mental health education and training opportunities in K-12 schools, as well as colleges and universities. The position also includes staffing tables/booths at external events, coordinating delivery of organizational presentations and trainings, responding to requests for materials.

Position Details:

Outreach and Education

  • Promote online mental health screenings among youth through partnerships and collaborations
  • Work with social media coordinator to develop campaigns that share stories, promote positive mental health and encourage use of organizational programs and services
  • Promote Back to School and Life on Campus materials
  • Seek out opportunities to staff events/booths/presentations to promote mental health tools, apps, programs and services

Programs and Services

  • Support RELATE youth peer support online chat service, including recruitment and scheduling of volunteers and promotion of service
  • Promote and coordinate trainings/educational opportunities in schools (ex. Teen Mental Health First Aid)

Other Duties

  • Work to meet annual and quarterly goals related to youth mental health
  • Assist with projects as needed, including promoting organizational programs and services 
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Other Requirements: Travel within the state of Minnesota will be required for this position, so staff must have their own reliable transportation (mileage is paid by the organization). 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required. Must be proficient in use of internet, email, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Must be able to learn and utilize constituent database, be able to communicate clearly and concisely, and work well independently. Candidates with lived mental health experience are encouraged to apply.
