We are currently seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant at Menorah Park! The Life Enrichment Assistant shall be responsible for assisting in the planning; supervising and documenting all aspects of activity programming that reflect the philosophy of care for the Designated Pavilion. The Life Enrichment Assistant shall be responsible and accountable for the delivery of appropriate activities and recreational services within the framework of interdisciplinary collaboration with the Nursing Assistant, Team Leader, Unit Coordinator, Social Worker and Dietician. The Life Enrichment Assistant shall also be administratively/clinically responsible to the Life Enrichment Coordinator for the Specified Pavilion.
Essential Qualifications::
- Minimum of Highschool Diploma
- Basic administrative knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge and the practices related to task breakdown, and general programming for various cognitive levels of function is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the physical, emotional, social and biological changes that occur in the geriatric population is preferred.
- Attendance/Punctuality:: :Employee arrives on time, observes time limits for breaks and lunches. Follows policies for all PTO time. Efforts made towards ensuring that their absence will not disrupt the normal flow of business.:
- Professionalism: :Conducts self in a responsible manner. Has a positive attitude and is respectful towards coworkers. Reliable and competent.:
- Communication-Written& Verbal: :Reads and responds to emails in timely manner, takes notes during meetings. :Clearly articulates thoughts and ideas verbally to director and coworkers. Asks questions and seeks out feedback when appropriate
- Productivity/Time Management: :Effectively uses available working time, plans and prioritizes work, accomplishes goals and completes assignments on schedule. Establishes realistic milestones for task completion and successfully multitasks.:
- Initiative: : :Employee demonstrates independent action and resourcefulness on the job by developing new methods, offering constructive suggestions, and/or seeking additional work.:
- Quality of Interpersonal Relationships: :Employee interacts and works harmoniously with clients and co‐workers within or outside the department. :
- Teamwork: :Effectively works together and gets along with coworkers, offers assistance to team members, does not gossip about fellow team members.
- Programming: : Assists in providing a variety of programs that meets the needs of each resident. Programs reflect all aspects of wellness. Programs are appropriate for the pavilion population.
- Documentation: :Completes all documentation on time. Communicates with Life Enrichment Coordinator if having issues completing on time.
- Creativity:: Researches and develops new ideas and tries out new programs on pavilion. Does not repeat the same programs every month. Is able to utilize materials and supplies department already has.
- Communication with Pavilion Staff:: Communicates on a regular basis with Life Enrichment Coordinator for the unit and Unit coordinator regarding any pavilion issues. Communicates with the Nursing Assistants regarding transport and activity help.
- Attitude: : Accepts criticism, is open to new ideas, and handles conflict constructively and diplomatically. Uses constructive feedback to help improve performance.
- Continuing Education:: :If carrying a certification, employee does not let skills or knowledge become outdated; they seek out ways of staying current. Committed to improving the team by continuing education or attending trainings and presenting new ideas.
- Listening Skills:: Listens effectively to others ideas, problems, and suggestions. Does not interrupt or become distracted during conversations with manager.
- Organization:: Office is clean and organized. Supplies are put away and handled with care so as not to be wasteful. Can multi task and prioritize responsibilities. Prepares for the days programs ahead of time.
