Mendez & Torres Family Dentistry is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Mooresville, NC

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients.

Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, passing instruments and materials as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and preparing impressions
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients and schedule follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical history
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following proper infection control protocols
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide oral care instructions
- Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Familiarity with digital radiography systems and ability to take accurate dental x-rays
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information

Preferred Skills:
While not required, the following skills are preferred for this position:
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic
