MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES is Hiring a Senior Manager, Event Ticket Operations Near Memphis, TN

The Opportunity:

The Event Ticket Operations Sr. Manager will manage day-to-day operations of the Box Office relating to all FedExForum Concerts, Family Shows, Comedy Shows, NCAA and Conference Basketball Tournaments, University of Memphis Basketball games and will support the Director of Ticket Operations for Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Games. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the price scaling of each event, creation and management of non-Grizzlies event manifests, main liaison with Arena Operations Staff, Show Promoters and Ticketmaster support staff, event settlements, daily box office settlements and staff training. The Event Ticket Operations Sr. Manager will report directly to the Director, Ticket Operations.

In This Role You Will:
  • Builds and manages all Concert/Family Show events on Ticketmaster Host & Archtics ticketing systems.
  • Ensures accuracy of all event pricing and fees are based off build information provided by promoter.
  • Ensures accuracy of all production, promoter and internal seat holds.
  • Works directly with show promoters from event build through show settlement. Must respond promptly to all promoter requests.
  • Assists Booking Director in scaling of concert and family show manifests.
  • Manages all internal financial controls related to event revenues.
  • Delegates tasks when necessary and understands the importance of time management.
  • Works directly with Ticketmaster representative in implementing updates or system revisions and ensuring system efficiency and event accuracy throughout the course of each event.
  • Manages all event inventory.
  • Oversees daily preparation of Box Office finance reports for Finance Department.
  • Provides all end of show event settlement reports for promoter.
  • Services issues and responds promptly to customer needs or requests.
  • Responsible for staff training of part-time staff members as well as providing training updates to full-time Box-Office Staff.
  • Manages daily banks used for window sales as well as all artist cash requests.
  • Provides daily event sales reports to VP of Arena Ops & Booking Director.
  • Provides weekly show updates as directed by VP of Arena Ops and/or Booking Director.
  • Reviews scheduling of full and part-time staff for all Events, Grizzlies and Tigers games.
  • Manages Will-Call and takes active steps in reducing will call volume and event day issues.
  • Must be proactive in discovering, learning, and implementing the latest system technologies including mobile and paperless ticket distribution.
  • Processes all internal ticket requests.
  • Maintains ADA compliance for the Presales, Onsales, and continuous sales of ticketing and be willing to coordinate with Guest service on day of event situations.
  • Open and effective communication with Full Time staff to maintain constructive collaboration within Box Office team.
  • Willing to make complex decisions and standard protocols with third-party vendors.
  • Manages Box Office and single game inventory during University of Memphis Basketball Games.
  • Manages staff and inventory during American Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament.
The Experience You Will Bring:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, or other related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Five (5) years Ticket Operations experience with at least 2 years in a management capacity or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Ticketmaster Host and Archtics ticketing system.
  • Experience settling events with event promoters.
  • Significant successful compatible Ticket Operations experience and business experience especially review and tracking financial reports.
  • Strong math aptitude.
  • Proven effective management of multiple related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience developing and coordinating multi-faceted plans and issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication.
  • Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
