Memphis Goodwill is Hiring a PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE- HERNANDO OUTLET Near Hernando, MS

FUNCTION:

Under the direct Supervision of the Bargain Barn leadership team, is responsible for processing of post retail goods and keeping equipment emptied for the needs of the organization. Also, is responsible for providing world-class customer service, maintaining work place and work area with cleanliness and orderliness, assist in the stocking of Bargain Barn and rotation when required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Greets internal and external customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner; assist customers with prices, location, and information on merchandise, ensuring 100% customer delight.

2. Maintains Bargain Barn sales floor free of dust, dirt, fallen merchandise, and clutter to ensure safe environment.

3. Responsible for the rotation of merchandise on sales floor.

4. Assists with quality control assurance.

5. Responsible for back room and floor recovery, cleaning as assigned. 

6. Adheres to all GIM and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the applicable leader on duty. 

7. When applicable and as assigned, operates equipment in a safe manner in accordance with organizational and safety policies and procedures. 

8. Processes salvage and donations efficiently based on company needs and adapts to changes in commodities processing as assigned. 

9. Demonstrates a general understanding for the different salvage categories in order to properly sort items for final processing at Logistics. 

10. When applicable and as assigned, in relation to production numbers complete breakdown, and maintain rotation to ensure overall movement of goods.

11. Adheres to Goodwill’s Safety Standards while operating equipment while on duty as assigned.

12. Assists in efficient movement of goods in the production areas, and in the loading and unloading of trucks with general merchandise and donated goods with the aid of material handling equipment as needed.

13. Learns to operate assigned material handling equipment in a safe and prudent manner under general supervision, in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, organizational and safety policies and procedures.

14. Responsible to assist guiding the movement of vehicles and/or material movement equipment in a safe manner and acts as a spotter when necessary.

15. Use of safe work procedures and personal protective equipment as required. (i.e. lifting, use of proper equipment, etc.). Reports incidents and injuries in a timely manner to the immediate supervisor.

16. Ensures that all items are processed accurately and that all saleable merchandise always makes it to the sales floor in a timely manner.

17. When applicable and as assigned, report equipment defects, incidents, or damage.

18. Establishes and maintains a cooperative, functional work relationship with team leader and all team members. 

19. Follows all Guiding Principles and Core Values.

20. Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader Coach. 

21. Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader Coach. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects as required by job.

2. Able to stand, bend and reach. 

3. Able to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed.

4. Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer), and adequate distance to guide the parking of vehicles. 

5. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team leadership, team members, customers, and clients. 

6. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. 

7. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

8. Skill of operation monitoring, watching indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

9. Ability to work under general supervision.

Training and Experience:

1. Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed.

2. Safety certifications preferred
