Pay Range*: $23.55/hr - $34.13/hr

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with our core values: Integrity, Accountability, Best Practices, Compassion and Synergy. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

The Secretary, Department assists in office related tasks to provide assistance to the team Supervisor for the proper functioning of the department with minimal assistance. Ensures that all communication between the office and the field staff are informed timely and in the most efficient manner. Answers all incoming calls that are transferred from the receptionist and relays the information to the team Supervisor or to the appropriate team member. Provides relief to the receptionist for breaks, lunches or as needed. Performs additional and varied duties as directed by the Team Supervisor with minimal assistance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Assists Team Supervisor and field staff in office related duties.
2. Communicates within the department, with other departments, and with external parties effectively.
3. Completes required documentation accurately and in alignment with legislative and hospital policies.
4. Meets population specific competencies.
5. Ability to be at work and be on time.
6. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
7. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
8. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Minimum of one year receptionist experience handling multiple phone lines and filing required.
  • Health care industry experience preferred.
  • Effective problem solving skills required.
  • Flexible, detail oriented, and professional demeanor required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Goal oriented, self-starter, and self-motivated attitude required.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
