Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Patient Account Specialist Near Carthage, IL

Memorial Hospital is looking for an experience clinic biller with at least 3 – 5 years of clinic billing/coding experience in an RHC and fee for service facility. Remote, at home, off campus access will be considered. See job specifications and job responsibilities listed below.

32 hours per week - benefit eligible.

Job Specifications:

1. Certified clinic biller/coder, CRCS, CRCP or work equivalence required.

2. Experience with RHC and fee for service clinic claim processing required.

3. Clinic billing experience of 3 – 5 years preferred.

4. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.

5. Medical terminology required.

6. Excellent computer skills required.

7. Must be able to work well with persons of all ages and nationalities.

8. Good human relations, written and oral communication skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Monitor the coding and charging of all clinic procedures for appropriateness and reviews accounts for compliance with Federal and State billing requirements to payers.

2. Maintain the Epic work ques including claim edits and charge review so that accounts are billed within 4 business days.

3. Maintain the Epic work ques for timely follow up on accounts for all payers and private pay.

4. Perform the necessary maintenance of patient accounts, i.e., correspondence, follow-ups, logs, inquires, and correspondence to ensure accurate and timely communication with the business office.

5. Maintain a system to capture missed and/or late charges prior to submission of claims.

6. Work with other departments to ensure best practices and processes for the entire Revenue Cycle.

7. Work closely with healthcare providers in the education of billing and coding principals.

8. Maintain knowledge of Federal and State billing requirements.

9. Perform other duties as assigned and requested.
