Works under direction of Occupational Therapist to administer occupational therapy treatment techniques (e.g., exercise, ADL training, moist heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, manual therapy including tool assisted soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilizations, massage, etc.) for hospital outpatients and inpatients to restore body functions, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part; instructs patients in care and use of braces, splints, or prosthetic devices; records pertinent information in medical record with co-signature by supervising Occupational Therapist; actively communicates pertinent patient information to supervising Occupational Therapist. Directs activities of student Occupational Therapist Assistant clinical affiliates; participates in training programs for other allied health departments in the hospital. Assists with completion of special project as required and/or assigned. Patient population will include outpatient (including pediatrics) and inpatient.

RequirementsAssociate degree in Occupational Therapist Assisting from an accredited program of study. Licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board to practice Occupational Therapist Assisting in the state of Ohio. Maintains continuous certification in American Heart Association’s BLS. Pediatrics experience preferred.
