Memorial Community Health, Inc. in Aurora, NE is looking for a full-time Medication Aide to join the Independent and Assisted Living division, East Park Villa. This position provides care to residents including but not limited to, basic activities of daily living in coordination with the resident and care plan. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a healthcare setting and a current Medication Aide certification with the State of Nebraska. This job is a full-time night shift positions with three 12 hour shifts from 7pm-7am and 2 out of 5 weekends.

Job Duties:

Performs responsibilities related to the provision of resident care.

• Contributes to, monitors and implements resident’s plan of care.
• Prepares, provides and documents prescription medications and treatments when assigned to do so by the supervisor, including prn medications.
• Recognizes changes in resident condition and notifies charge nurse in timely manner.
• Serves as resident advocate.
• Demonstrates expertise in provision of Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) for residents and delivers such care in a professional and caring manner which includes; positioning, transferring, toileting, nutrition, ambulation, bathing, grooming, dressing/undressing, hygiene procedures and other duties such as linen changes etc.

Participates as an effective member of the care team.

• Responds in a timely and effective manner to resident/family concerns and provides immediate interventions when possible.
• Provides communication of concerns to other departments for appropriate follow up.
• Offers assistance with ADL’s to residents and does daily Care Tracker charting.
• Adapts to changes in workload and completes assignments while maintaining quality care.
• Initiates and performs duties which need to be completed although not directly assigned.
• Promotes teamwork through effective interpersonal relationships.
• Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in provision of care.
• Completes med exchange with another qualified staff member, per policy.

Prepares and uses necessary equipment.

Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance within a Certified Medication Aide scope of practice.

Performs and maintains documentation.

Communicates effectively.

Promotes and ensures resident and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
