INTRODUCTION

• This position requires a CDL license (class B with endorsements for air brakes and DOT HAZMAT certification). Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as assigned will be 50% of the time .
• This position is located in Ft. Meade, MD.
• This is a part-time, non-exempt position; employees are eligible for overtime pay.
• A collective bargaining agreement governs this site.
• Starting pay is $29.67 per hour .
• Working Hours : 6 : 30 am - 3 : 30 pm (Oct-May); 5 : 00 am-2 : 00 pm (June-Sept); 2 1 / 2 days per week .
• Pre-employment criminal background checks, government security clearance, and drug screening are required.

QUALIFICATIONS :

This position requires a CDL license (class B with endorsements for air brakes and DOT HAZMAT certification) . Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as assigned will be 50% of the time.

Other duties as assigned will include but are not limited to the following.

• Snowplowing, removal, and shoveling
• Assist roads and grounds team with road repairs, filling potholes. Grounds work, tree work.
• Concrete and brick repairs
• Assist with on-demand work orders as assigned
• Relocate dumpsters, relocate heavy equipment
• All other duties as assigned
• Experience with local delivery vehicles up to 4 tons / 10 wheels preferred
• Must be able to operate a mechanized liftgate
• Must be able to meet contract security requirements
• E-Verify is required for all employment positions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as assigned will be 50% of the time. Other duties as assigned will include but are not limited to the following.
• Snowplowing, removal, and shoveling
• Assist roads and grounds team with road repairs, filling potholes; grounds work, tree work.
• Concrete and brick repairs
• Assist with on-demand work orders as assigned
• Relocate dumpsters, relocate heavy equipment
• All other duties as assigned
• Loads and unloads materials from a truck following all related safety procedures
• Maintains the record of collections to ensure that the daily service requirements are met
• Ensures safe conditions exist at all times in and around the vehicle while in operation
• Follows State, Federal and local Army base rules and regulations regarding vehicle operation and material transport
• Drives assigned route to all locations and collect, loads, and unloads materials as required.
• Maintains accurate, complete mileage and collection information per contract requirements
• Performs daily pre-and post-trip inspections of truck fluids, batteries, tires, and safety equipment
• Ensures equipment safety precautions are exercised to prevent damage in the performance of collection.
• Ensures that all fire and safety precautions are strictly adhered to and material handling and delivery equipment are appropriately utilized
• Performs all other duties as assigned (Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as given will be 50% of the time).
