Melco has an outstanding opportunity available for a skilled Product documentation Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, onsite role working at our headquarters in Westminster, CO.

Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for design, development, production, and maintenance of instructional materials including online web-based help systems, parts manuals and technical manuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, maintain, develop all online help systems
• Use contextual tags to maintain multiple versions/brandings of the same content
• Use single-source techniques to minimize duplication of materials and inconsistencies
• Work with translators to produce multiple language versions of the content
• Create and capture images for manuals
• Create required shot sheets for illustration, photography, and videography as needed.
• Work with photographers and videographers to create content
• The ability to create this content by one’s self is beneficial
• Work with mechanical engineering to create illustrations from models as needed
• Maintain web pages related to online help systems
• Additional as assigned
• Occasional online articles and social media post

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

If required, supports Technical Support department with customer related application/software/ hardware calls and/or issue resolution.

• Improve documentation and/or product based on these interactions.

Participates in beta testing new software and hardware products for Engineering in compliance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions and maintaining quality system requirements for testing, calibration, and recording of pertinent data.

Assist other departments like sales and marketing, if needed and time permits. (Often image assets and data sources are shared between departments)

Education and/or Experience

• This position requires a High school diploma or general equivalent degree (GED).
• Bachelor’s Degree in communication, education, design, or like industry, experience can be substituted for degree.
• 1-3 years of experience in teaching, adult instructional role, or documentation; prior experience in personalization industry preferred.
• 1-3 year HTML experience (must be able to understand/write HTML in various web/development environments)
• Must understand basic concepts of technical writing and delivery of adult learning materials.
• Must possess ability to take complex instructions and create help materials that provide independent learning avenues for customers.
• Highly organized; detail oriented; self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills; exceptional presentation skills and behaviors; outgoing personality.
• Exceptional written, non-verbal, and image-based communication skills.
• Photography, videography, and technical illustration skills are ideal.
• Strong customer service focus; ability to calmly and professionally address customer issues to successful outcome.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and maintain tight timelines.
• Independent performer with ability to maintain motivation while projecting focus and goals with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Computer Skills

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Melco Software is a plus.
