Position Summary:

The Quality Supervisor assists laboratory staff and supports the Quality Manager in the development, documentation, and implementation of the ISO 17025 accredited program. While a support resource for the N.A. laboratories, the role has a heavy focus on training to become competent in all aspects of the quality program needed to ensure operational continuity as succession planning requires. The Quality Supervisor may perform additional operational tasks and functions while supporting the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adheres to all company safety requirements, policies, and related documentation.
• Supports the laboratories with quality inquiries and questions.
• Responsible for tasks, functions, and projects assigned by the Quality Manager.
• Supervises all in-process department/laboratory work instructions and tracks revised instructions upon release, ensures process owner provides training within 30 days of posting to the database, and manages the folder with the editable instructions up to date with current version only.
• Maintains current training logs and completed competency evaluations.
• Reviews completed follow-up evidence to close ICARs, tracks follow-ups to ensure ICARs have been completed correctly, and reports monthly on the status of ICARs to the Quality Manager.
• Maintains and provides updates on control charts.
• Travels to conduct internal laboratory audits and provide on-site training.
• Participates in the development of industry standards including ASTM D-27 meetings as a organizational subject matter expert.
• Participates in management team meetings as required.
• Performs other duties, tasks, and projects as requested by the regional lab and quality management team.

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

• A 4-Year Technical College Degree (Chemistry Preferred) or 5 years of direct Quality Control experience.
• ISO 17025 related management training and/or industry certification highly preferred.
• Experience, knowledge, or training in the use of statistics and quality systems.
• Experience utilizing computer applications including word processing, excel spreadsheets and macros, and database management applications.
• Effective written and oral communication skills to work with all levels of employees, customers, and vendors as part of the leadership team.
